The operative group responsible for restarting community life held its inaugural meeting, the topic of Tuesday's meeting was children's summer camps, the minister without portfolio responsible for families told journalists after the meeting.

Katalin Novák said at the press conference held as the head of the operative tribe: as in the years before the epidemic, this year there was more interest in the Erzsébet camps than ever before. In order to ensure that not a single child has to be turned away, half a billion HUF extra resources are provided for these camps, he added.

This year, in addition to day camps, overnight camps can also be organized , so during the ten weeks of the summer vacation, 110,000 children can spend part of their holidays in Erzsébet camps, and family camps are organized on the weekends, he explained.

Katalin Novák also reported that the Erzsébet camps were renovated . The sledges have also been winterized, and a yurt camp will be organized in Fonyódliget from August 1.

He added that the current epidemiological rules apply to the camps, and they guarantee that only adults who have a protection card can participate in the camps.

He touched on the fact that Hungarian children will not be sent to the Erzsébet camp in Transylvania this year, but Hungarian children from Transylvania are expected there.

The minister said that the panel recommended that public education institutions be able to organize camps in the last week of August. They see that the revision of the original provision is justified, he added.

Katalin Novák said that a high degree of vaccination makes it possible to restart life. People need security and freedom, the operative tribe responsible for restarting community life helps with this, he said. He indicated that there are more vaccines in Hungary today than are needed, this is the guarantee for restarting life.

According to Katalin Novák, the operative tribe responsible for restarting community life will meet weekly, and in addition to government actors, representatives of cultural and tourist life, the national chief medical officer, and civilians will also be represented in it through the National Association of Large Families.
