Left-wing organizations - mostly sponsored by Soros - organized a demonstration in Budapest, on Kossuth Square. They protested because of the anti-pedophile law.
"PEDOFIDESZ", "Love belongs to everyone", "Reality cannot be banned", "Loving families instead of forced marriages", "Maybe your son is here too" - a few thousand people came to Kossuth Square yesterday afternoon with banners like these .
The demonstration was organized in front of the Parliament against the anti-gay amendments to the pedophile law. The event called "Acceptance instead of Propaganda Law" was announced by Amnesty International Hungary, Budapest Pride, Háttér Társaság, Labrisz Leszbikus Egyesület, Hungarian Helsinki Committee, Prizma Közössét and the Rainbow Families Foundation.
"Government MPs have introduced exclusionary and hateful proposals to completely erase LGBTQI people from the public eye and ban vital school programs that both help young people access information and support and make them more accepting and inclusive they guarantee a safer environment. With the bill, it tries to conflate the perpetrators of unforgivable crimes against children with members of the LGBTQI community."
- wrote the organizers.
Lawyer Zsolt Szekeres from the Hungarian Helsinki Committee told about his own childhood, when he was stigmatized as gay. He called the representatives of the ruling party in parliament, who vote for the proposal, monsters: "the children must be protected, but they must be protected from you," he said, pointing to the Parliament. According to him, the "disgusting incitement of hatred" would make the lives of children even more unbearable, according to the Telex report.
Juli Lászlóffy, one of the founding members of the LGBTQ section of the Hungarian Psychological Society, said:
"suicide can be a problem among LGBTQI youth, and for political gain I think the lives of these youth are being put at risk."
Erik Robin Erdős, the organizer of the Prizma Transgender Community, said that "many people with transgender identity live with wrong data in their personal documents, after the parliament had previously banned the possibility of changing their gender and name. No one needs to be afraid of warming up to a straight man if he hears about these issues professionally,” the Telex reported.
As a child, theater director Kriszta Székely heard the word homosexual for the first time in Dallas, when one of Lucy's suitors came out to the young Ewing girl, and then she learned that "it's about what she feels too".
Márton Pál, a member of the Rainbow Families Foundation, scandalized the audience that "a family is a family". According to him, the proposal is dangerous "because they will hurt and harass those living in rainbow families, such as his little son. Leave our children alone!" he told the government. According to him, the proposal is "inexplicable, because it is a display of homosexuality if the little son sees his family at home. In addition, according to him, the proposal is evil because it bans books that have been a cathartic experience for many rainbow families," the Telex report states. At the end of the event, the organizers announced that if they accepted the proposal, they would appeal to the President of the Republic, János Áder, not to sign it.
