An extraordinary letter from a Hungarian fan from Germany, about the experiences of the German-Hungarian EC match!

I was also out in Munich. My own experiences:

All locations were constantly - and obviously intentionally and unjustifiably - over-secured with policemen. They were everywhere with a threatening presence, despite the fact that all Hungarians behaved completely peacefully. There were many families and small children among us. At the same time, there was nothing personal about the policemen, and it seemed that they were doing what they were doing because they were instructed. There was a series of provocations all day in the city, especially from the city administration (!). The "new German rainbow flag" was on every bus and tram. They were also displayed at the town hall. It was a pure provocation by top management, because the next day they were no longer out!!!

Entry into the stadium was unbelievably slow. There were a total of 4 gates for the Hungarian sectors. They looked over the fans so fiercely that they don't even look over them at El Al. The Germans marched around the stadium with the rainbow flag as if it were their national flag (about 1 in 6-7 had it.). Szarházi - who ran in and stood in front of our national team waving the "new German flag" during our national anthem - was applauded by the Germans.

Around the middle of the first half of the match, two Germans from the Hungarian B sector above the middle started to provoke the Hungarians. Fortunately, the directors handled the situation quickly, but there was no major scandal.

After the match, the Hungarians were only allowed back to the subway on a circuitous, muddy dirt road, so that approx. they made the crowd wait unnecessarily three times. At every door in the "separate metro", two police officers, dressed from head to toe, squeezed in among the Hungarians, completely inexplicably, because all Hungarians were peaceful and cheerful/bitter.

In summary, they have now shown the whiteness of their teeth and what German hospitality is like. We are only "friends" as long as everything happens the way they want. If anything goes wrong, then comes various levels of muscularity against the pesky colonial populace. Nothing has changed since 1945. It is only a matter of time and historical situation when harsher methods than the current ones will be used to enforce the following of the new religion.

If anyone had any illusions about whether we can expect anything good from the "West", then they can filter the answer for themselves based on the experience of the night in Munich.
