Another grant of HUF 9.3 billion was awarded to applicants in the Hungarian village program on Monday, announced Alpár Gyopáros, the government commissioner responsible for the development of modern settlements, at a press conference in Budapest.

On Monday, applicants from small settlements received support on 3 topics: on the one hand, for the development of kindergartens and public playgrounds, on the other hand, for the renovation of cemeteries, and thirdly, for the purchase of real estate, vehicles and equipment for village NGOs, and for events.
349 applicants received a total of HUF 1.5 billion for the renovation of kindergarten playgrounds and public playgrounds.
An applicant could receive a maximum of HUF 5 million. Since 2019, 1,600 village playgrounds have been renewed for a total of HUF 7 billion. Alpár Gyopáros said: more and more children are born in the villages, according to statistics there are already more children under the age of 3 than in the capital, which is why the development of playgrounds, kindergartens, and the expansion of nursery places are justified.
Cemetery renovations can take place in 470 places for a total of HUF 3 billion based on the tenders awarded on Monday.
Cemetery sidewalks, public lighting, fences, funeral homes can be renewed, since 2019, in a total of about 1,650 places for a total of HUF 10 billion. The government commissioner noted: leftists mocked how cemetery renovation could improve the quality of life, even though the villager is proud to keep his cemetery and church in order.
In the third major topic, 1,490 village NGOs received a total of HUF 4.8 billion: they could ask for up to HUF 6 million to buy real estate, HUF 5 million to buy vehicles, and HUF 2 to 2 million to buy equipment, as well as programs and events.
The government commissioner said: a total of 14 tenders were announced for this year with HUF 70 billion in support, of which 7 have been closed so far, and the results will be announced in 2 weeks.
The Hungarian village program is written by the villagers: it is a life-like project adapted to real needs, the aim of which is to improve the quality of life of the people living in the village, said the government commissioner responsible for the development of modern settlements.
