The Folk Art Methodology Workshop of the House of Traditions organizes the Almárium camp in Kiscsősz from July 12-17. between.

Vojdaság Ma Dóra Fruzsina , deputy curator of the Workshop, about the details of the event.

"The Almárium camp is an invitation-only event, and the staff of the Methodology Workshop addressed the prospective participants. We welcome artisans, musicians, dancers, organizers dealing with folk art and folk traditions, as well as employees of the Hágyomány Hása's county and cross-border network, for the six-day gathering. Don't think of a classic camp, as the meeting is more like a multi-day brainstorming session or a larger conference. We are pleased that a quarter of the participants of the hundred-person event come from across the border.

During the time spent together, we are basically looking for the answer to the question of what is the role of folk tradition in contemporary education and culture. We also address the dilemma of how 'authenticity', adherence to tradition, renewal, and the reformulation of traditions find a place in the lifestyle of professionals. Disputes naturally serve as a way to keep traditions alive.

The success of the meeting can be attributed to the fact that the invited guests welcomed the initiative and undertook to enrich others with their knowledge. We imagine this in the form of presentations and sessions, which can be supplemented with round table discussions or a discussion forum. All those gathered can therefore be an active part of the camp, so we did not build on the classic lecturer-student relationship.

We have also worked out the details of the program, in the morning time slot we hold parallel sessions with a smaller number of people - mostly handicrafts. A separate section dealing with folk tales, folk dances, folk music, and folk games awaits those interested. The morning ends with singing together.

The afternoons are filled with larger, more theoretical discussion forums and round table discussions, in which the campers can participate together. We fill the evenings with slightly lighter, more entertaining programs, such as a folk pub quiz, a storyteller's pub, contests, and concerts."
