On July 17, the Muharay Folk Art Association welcomes the public with a musical and dance folk costume presentation and a performance entitled "Hazai tánskörkép" in the Millenáris Park and the National Dance Theater. The performing dancers come from several generations and from many settlements in the country.

On the occasion of the 30th anniversary of its foundation, the association is planning an all-day celebration, reads the statement of the Muharay Elemér Folk Art Association. As it is written, in the afternoon visitors to Millenáris Park can get to know the most typical costumes of the Hungarian regions. Edit Bathó guides the audience through the world of special clothes, the music is provided by the Boglya Folk Ensemble from Szombathely, the Csurgó Band from Szekszárd and the brass bands from Zengővárkony. At the evening performance held at the National Dance Theatre, the dancers will present the typical dances and costumes of each region according to regional characteristics - from Rábaköz to Szatmár.

Several generations of dancers from traditional ensembles take the stage, adult and child dancers, Masters of Folk Art, Ferenc Fülöp Award-winning Hungarian, Hungarian Gypsies, German and Slovak dance soloists.

The host of the evening is Márta Sebestyén and István Sebestyén, master of folk art, storyteller from Bukovina, music by the Bekecs Együttes and FixStimm Orchestra, the performance is directed by the Muharay Elemér Folk Art Association.

The Muharay Elemér Folk Art Association, founded in 1990, has been a cross-border link for traditional village ensembles, ensemble leaders, ethnography, folk dance and folk music researchers for more than thirty years. It has almost 5,500 members, representing 134 traditional dance ensembles from 120 settlements, about 15,000 folk art dancers, musicians, craftsmen, ethnography teachers, and researchers.

He interprets the preservation of tradition not only as the preservation of old customs and music, but places great emphasis on community building and on the fact that the next generation also finds the knowledge inherent in our traditions, which it carries on, which can be applied and lived in the present. In the course of its activities, it launches expert trainings, dance lessons and rural development programs, with the help of which, together with tradition-preserving, value-creating small communities, they can revive the cultural and community traditions of small settlements by thinking in the long term.
