After the recordings called evidence were made public, the decision of the European Football Association (UEFA) can be described as even more pathetic and disgraceful, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade declared on Monday in Brussels, at the one-day meeting of the ministers responsible for foreign affairs of the European Union member states.

Péter Szijjártó, speaking to Hungarian journalists during the break of the session, reacted to the fact that UEFA fined the Hungarian association for three behind closed doors matches and 100,000 euros due to the discriminatory expressions of fans at the European Championship matches in Budapest.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade stated: there was no organized, "no large-scale, no discriminatory expression or behavior pervading the stadium" at any football match held in Budapest.

He emphasized that the matches in Budapest were full houses, and the game was characterized by a good football atmosphere. He recalled that while a small penalty was imposed for behavior experienced in other matches, for example for shining a laser into the eyes of the goalkeeper of the Danish national team, the sign held up in the Hungarian match deserved a penalty of one hundred thousand euros.

"After this, do we think UEFA's disciplinary committee is a serious body? It is impossible to talk about this decision calmly and calmly," he said.

According to the UEFA website, some fans behaved in a discriminatory manner during the European Championship matches in Budapest and Munich - the Hungarians clashed with the Portuguese and the French in the Puskás Arena, the Germans in the Allianz Arena - and as a result, the national team's next two home matches organized by UEFA they cannot be spectators. The penalty for the third match was suspended by UEFA for two years. The organization also fined the Hungarian association 100,000 euros, which will have to wear a T-shirt with the inscription "Equal play" at these meetings.
