The Visegrád castle and its surroundings are being reborn in the Visegrád 700 priority government program, which is starting now and will last until 2035, announced Government Commissioner Gergely Fodor, who is also responsible for the renewal of the Budavári Palace Quarter and the Citadel.


Thanks to the "Visegrád 700" program, by 2035, the 700th anniversary of the meeting of kings in Visegrád, which defined Central European cooperation, the castle, the historical buildings connected to the castle and the surrounding areas will be dressed in a robe worthy of the spirit of the place.

As part of the works already starting this year, the reconstruction of not only the Visegrád Fell Castle and the royal palace in the picturesque surroundings, but also the Lower Castle and the Solomon Tower, as well as the valley wall and the water bastion will be realized.

The primary goal of the development program is to provide a high-quality, multidimensional territorial development framework, during which coordinated real estate development, cultural, infrastructural and tourism investments can be realized.

Visegrád was the country's capital, the dominant artistic and intellectual center of the continent, and now we are working together to make it the 21st century. to be an extremely important place even in the 20th century.

Hundreds of thousands of visitors visit the historic building complex with its unique panorama of the Danube Bend. The renovations greatly contribute to the tourism development of the settlement.
