The European Commission (EC), with the support of the European Parliament (EP), wants Hungary to allow LGBTQ activists and organizations into kindergartens and schools, the Minister of Justice said in Kossuth Rádió's Sunday Newspaper program. Judit Varga stated: Hungary does not want this. "We hit a nerve here" , and although the child protection law does not violate any European standards, it hurts the EC and the EP, he added. In connection with the law, there is "a great European aggression" against the Hungarian government and Hungary, he said.

The minister stated that they are over the first, very impolite inquiry. The EC usually contacts member states with a two-month deadline when it believes that one of its laws is not in line with EU standards, in this case they were given a one-week deadline. The letter of June 23 had to be answered by the 30th, and this was done, he added.

Judit Varga said

" principled " rejects the EC or any other European body dictating how to live and think in Hungary

and how Hungarian parents should raise their children. This is the main content of their answer, he said. The minister noted that the government strove for a very constructive and constructive dialogue with the EU bodies.

Judit Varga said that in the letter of the European Court of Justice, she believes that almost all EU standards will be violated in connection with the Child Protection Act. The Hungarian government rejects these legal positions. This is an open jurisdiction of the member states, the Charter of Fundamental Rights of the European Union states that parents have the sole right to determine the child's education, he said.

According to the minister, you can see what it is like

the EC works in a politically heightened environment, so it is clear that they will not find this satisfactory.

Judit Varga also spoke about the fact that a very constructive dialogue has been going on for months about the recovery plans, and that the Hungarian recovery package is being put together in accordance with EU rules. At the same time, the committee has had new demands since the Child Protection Act, he said, adding: these two things cannot be connected, since the two have nothing to do with each other.

The money owed to the Hungarian people cannot be tied to ideological conditions. This was also clearly stated in the agreement of the state and heads of government last December, the minister pointed out.
