According to Tilda Swinton, the part of the Child Protection Act that protects sexual identity is "mindless violence, (...) it must be loudly opposed" . According to him, it is important for Hungarians to know that everyone is paying attention, everyone is aware of the situation.
Oscar- and BAFTA-winning actress Tilda Swinton attacks the child protection law in an interview with Magyar Narancs.
The actress reminds us of Article 28 of the Hungarian Child Protection Act, which was created by the Thatcher government from 1988 to 2003. The mentioned article prohibited the "promotion of homosexuality" in Great Britain. "I am aware that many battles await you in Hungary against various repressive measures.
When I say homosexual lifestyle, I am using the stigmatizing term of the Thatcher government. I understand that you are facing the same situation in Hungary. That is why it is important to talk about this now, it is important that people in Hungary know: it is essential to speak out against this. And it is possible to win. But that makes it an even more terrible situation," the actress told Magyar Narancs.
