Helping underprivileged children is a priority, stated the State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade, responsible for information and the international presentation of Hungary, on Thursday at the handover of teqball tables donated to the Ecumenical Aid Organization in Budapest.

At the presentation held at the center of the aid organization, Tamás Menczer - who is also the chairman of the charity committee of the Hungarian Teqball Association - said: teqball is becoming more and more well-known not only in Hungary, but worldwide, and is an excellent example of Hungarian ingenuity. Calling the work of the Ecumenical Relief Organization exemplary, the State Secretary expressed his hope that many children will be introduced to the sports that can be played on the teqball table.

László Lehel, president and director of the Ecumenical Aid Organization, speaking about the importance of community building at the handover, said: teqball is also a good tool to bring a community together. He said that they already have teqball tables in six regional centers - Miskolc, Kaposvár, Sátoraljaújhely, Vizsoly, Debrecen and Kastélyosdombo - which are very popular in their summer camps. With the five new tables donated by the teqball association worth more than HUF 2.5 million on Thursday, the number of their teqball courts has increased to eleven, and they are also thinking about holding a mini-tournament, said the president and director of the aid organization.
