66 percent of the Syrians who came to Germany live on state aid. This number is higher than the unemployment rate among immigrants from other countries, reports 888.hu.

We still have a lot of work to do in the field of integration, said Mathias Middelberg, the politician responsible for domestic affairs of the parliamentary group of the CDU/CSU party alliance. He later added that more should be done for those already here, rather than supporting the immigration of the low-skilled or unskilled.

Currently, most Syrians receive aid from the Hartz IV labor market support. This was mainly designed to support low-skilled workers.

However, there are those who do not agree with it. René Springer, the anti-immigration AfD politician, would reduce the number of Syrian immigrants to zero in the Hartz IV program.
