Because of his Christian faith, Montague asked the school principal that his son not have to participate in the parade, but he was refused.

She later took her child out of the institution. She said she took her son from school because she wanted him to be educated, not influenced.

The CEO of the legal organization representing the mother, the Christian Legal Centre, emphasized in connection with the case that this case also highlights the chaos that parents can expect in schools in the coming years. As he said, those who preach full acceptance and diversity don't seem to practice it. Different ideologies are forced on children, he said, and parents simply have no way to educate their children according to their own religious or philosophical views.

It's not that I want to live in a shell, but that parents can give their children their own opinion about the world, added Izzy Montague, speaking on the Good Morning Britain program.
