Until now, no comprehensive and professional travel guide has been prepared for Transcarpathia, said the ministerial commissioner responsible for the development of cooperation between Szabolcs-Szatmár-Bereg County and Transcarpathia and the coordination of the kindergarten development program in the Carpathian Basin.

István Grezsa put it this way: the book presents the history and geography of Subcarpathia, the different regions, and the social conditions of the region.

Similar to the previously published publication "Alkarpátjai Gastrokalauz", this guidebook will also be available in Ukrainian from autumn. The goal is not only for tourists from Hungary to travel to Transcarpathia, they want as many Ukrainian visitors as possible to get to know the unique values and beauties of this area, he stressed.

In recent years, the Ukrainian traveling public has discovered Transcarpathia for themselves, and the Hungarian state is doing everything to make the region attractive. Transcarpathia is safe, the Hungarians and non-Hungarians living there welcome Hungarian tourists, added István Grezsa.

László Brenzovics , the president of the Subcarpathian Hungarian Cultural Association (KMKSZ), called the guidebook filling a gap.

He said: it fills him with pride that the book includes many memorials, the creation of which KMKSZ provided assistance; such is the Rákóczi statue in Beregsász, which can be seen on the cover of the book, or the Honfoglazal monument in Verecke.

"Hungarian tourism enterprises in Transcarpathia have developed a lot, which was helped by professional training, programs and subsidies. We hope that the situation will improve in Ukraine, that the borders will be easier to cross, and that the tourism of the border and Subcarpathian settlements can flourish again," said the president of the KMKSZ.
