Anyone who follows Transylvanian news portals can often read about bear attacks.
For example, Transylvania reported today that a 26-year-old man was killed by a bear in Hargita county on Friday night. His other companion, a 45-year-old man, was taken to the hospital with serious injuries, the third man was able to escape from the scene. All three were tending to the sheep when they ran into the wild animal. The 26-year-old's injuries were "incompatible with life," according to news reports.
The authorities alerted local residents on Friday evening, asking everyone to stay at home.
The Székelyhon portal reported that seven sheep were killed by a bear in Kakasd, which belongs to the village of Maroskeresztúr, near Marosvásárhely. A gendarmerie unit and a wildlife guard rushed to the scene, and the bear was finally driven away with dogs. According to the owner, the animal entered the farm without harming the electric shepherd.
Hearing such news, one wonders why the respectable Mácó gentlemen had the courage to visit inhabited settlements as well. Can't they find enough food in the forest or maybe humans have invaded their living space? Maybe they proliferated because of the firing ban? These are just questions, but it is certain that the experts must find the answer as soon as possible, so that both humans and bears can live in peace and tranquility.
