Since the vaccination certificate issued by the EU would have to wait at least until the middle of June, several countries mutually recognize each other's vaccination documents, with which you can freely enter the territory of the given country.

According to Kelemen Hunor, the agreement on the mutual recognition of Hungarian and Romanian vaccination certificates can be finalized within a few days. The Deputy Prime Minister of Romania made a statement about this to the Transylvanian Hungarian daily Krónika.

"I myself informed Prime Minister Florin Citu about the issue of the convention, but Foreign Minister Bogdan Aurescu also spoke about this matter with the Prime Minister, who was very open to the matter - the RMDSZ president informed Krónika. He added that the agreement can be finalized within a few days.

Kelemen Hunor considered it important to point out that such an agreement, which mutually recognizes vaccination certificates, is only about free travel, not about other driving licenses provided by immunity cards issued in Hungary. At the same time, the head of the RMDSZ said that he informed Levente Magyar, the parliamentary state secretary of the Budapest Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade, about the indications of dual-citizen Transylvanian Hungarians that, despite their vaccination certificate received in Romania, they cannot receive a Hungarian protection card, nor can they benefit from the Hungarian benefits for those who have been vaccinated.

Currently, apart from those traveling for business purposes and those transiting within 24 hours, only those Hungarian citizens who have an immunity card issued by the Hungarian authorities, i.e. they have been vaccinated against the coronavirus in Hungary, can enter Hungary without quarantine. On the other hand, the vast majority of Transylvanian Hungarians with dual citizenship were vaccinated in Romania.
