According to a UN report published on July 9, human traffickers adapted very quickly to the new epidemic situation. Among other things, the report states that criminals are using social networking sites and other online platforms to recruit new victims. At the same time, the demand for and consumption of pedophile content increased.
The new regulation approved by the European Parliament on July 6 , "Temporary rules on the detection of online sexual abuse of children" , already allows providers of web, chat and messaging services to fight against the online presence of child pornography - on a voluntary basis.
Don Fortunato Di Noto, who has been at the forefront of the fight against pedophilia and child pornography for 30 years, called the legislation "an unacceptable, weak, opaque compromise" that does not take into account the protection of minors.
According to him, mandatory cooperation should be imposed on server service providers, as well as the obligation to provide all elements necessary for the identification of those who spread, attract and popularize child pornography and pedophile ideology.
La Nuova Bussola Quotidiana draws attention to the "laxity" of the EU, which considers the threats of the EP and EC against Hungary concerning the Hungarian "anti-pedophile law" to be worrying, and highlights that, in parallel, Brussels is not taking action with the Netherlands and the Dutch pedophile party (Party for the Love of Others, Freedom and Diversity) against legalization.
