The 6th Salföld Dalföld celebrates Hungarian national unity in music; the festival awaits the audience with classical music, jazz and folk music concerts, as well as numerous accompanying programs, between August 13 and 15 in Salföld in Káli-medence.
Salföldi Dalföld's mission is to appeal to those who want to experience the charm of the Balaton highlands and those interested in culture, away from the noise of the Balaton summer, with concerts, theater performances, exhibitions and other cultural programs, the organizers told MTI on Monday.
The backbone of the program, which is based on three musical genres - classical music, jazz and folk music - is provided by a different main theme every year.
Salföldi Dalföld, organized for the sixth time by the Bíró-Gombos Foundation, celebrates the common roots and diversity of the music of the Hungarians of the Carpathian Basin and Moldavia through the traditional genres of the festival.
In addition to the motherland, Hungarian music is at the center of concerts by artists coming from the Highlands, Subcarpathia, Transylvania and the South, and for a few songs, a Slovak, Romanian, Serbian, and Ruthenian guest artist will also perform with them. Őrvidék is represented by the Austrian-Hungarian folk dancers of the Délibáb dance group.
Among others, Mörk, Andrea Rost and the Dresch Quartet will give a concert, the FolkEmbassy will hold several dance halls, the Balatonfelvidéki Folk Dancers' Meeting will be organized as part of the Salföld Dalföld, and this year the festival will also feature children's and youth programs from the afternoon until late at night.
The main theme of this year's round table discussions is also the harmonization of Hungarian national unity and the strengthening of the Central European region: cultural and public figures, as well as political analysts, discuss the fate of Hungarians living in various neighboring countries, the announcement states.
