The repatriation of Hungarians staying in Afghanistan and the upcoming fourth wave of the coronavirus epidemic were discussed at Saturday's extraordinary government briefing. It also turned out that the government is planning new measures to stimulate the economy, and in fact, the elderly will soon receive an unprecedented amount of pension premiums.

, Romulusz Ruszin-Szendi , commander of the Hungarian Defense Forces, announced in Saturday's emergency government briefing He emphasized that it is not yet known how long the evacuation operation will last , a forward operation base has been established near Kabul, where people will be evacuated. The commander said that when everyone returned home, they would give detailed information. He also asked the public not to complicate the operation with Internet research and guesswork.

There is no clear scenario for the situation after the withdrawal, the Allied forces are spreading to secure the Kabul airport. The main goal is to get the Hungarians out of there - stated Gergely Gulyás, adding: it is obvious that this is a failed mission. Twenty years ago, Hungarian soldiers marched into Afghanistan in accordance with the American will, and now they also left Afghanistan in accordance with the American will.

In response to a journalist's question, the minister emphasized that they expect a significant wave of migration. The German interior minister put the number of people leaving Afghanistan between 500,000 and 5 million. In order to prevent a repeat of the 2015 wave, the neighboring countries must be supported. Regarding the mandatory quota, Gulyás

In response to the Hungarian Nation's question, he also stated that Hungary accepts those who are rescued because their lives are in danger.

In the second half of the government briefing, the minister provided information on the current epidemiological situation and measures. According to his description, the epidemic situation within the EU is the most favorable in Central Europe, and within that, Hungary is the best. However, the fourth wave will also arrive in Hungary. This will differ from the first three waves, so the measures will also be different, he added.

Gergely Gulyás said: the number of protected persons in the country is already over six million.

He said about mistrust of vaccines: mistrust of vaccines has been created on various forums, but there is no basis for this. Among those who are vaccinated, one person out of five hundred gets sick. In their case, the symptoms are significantly milder, and the course of the disease is significantly faster. The elderly are the most at risk, so the authorities will try to visit everyone who is over 65 and has not been vaccinated. So far, 185,000 people have received the third vaccine, he said, adding that nearly 8 million vaccines are available in the country.

"We can vaccinate everyone with the third, but the most important thing is to include the first two, " he emphasized.

Alexandra Szentkirályi informed me that another campaign to popularize vaccination will start in the fall.

Gergely Gulyás said that the Hungarian economy managed to reach the pre-epidemic level, which only three European countries besides Hungary managed to do. It seems that the targeted 5.5 percent increase is achievable, and if it happens, families raising children will get this year's SZJA payment back. In addition, the government is paying an unprecedented amount of pension premiums.

The objective, said the minister, of avoiding the operation of an aid-based economy, has been achieved. The government expects economic growth of over 6 percent, which has not been seen since the change of regime.

He also reported that the government is planning economic stimulus measures for the next period as well. He emphasized that in the recent period, everything was done to create new jobs and encourage investments. These fulfilled the hopes attached to them, since even the analysts did not expect such a large increase.

We did not think that Gergely Karácsony considered his current position only as a springboard - answered Gergely Gulyás to Magyar Nemzet's question about the situation in Budapest. He said that every decision has consequences, Gergely Karácsony is currently the mayor appointed by the voters, and there is a left-wing majority in the general assembly. Chaos really reigned in the city, but the government cannot interfere in the mayor's powers. He can help manage the chaos with law enforcement action, but the management of Budapest is the responsibility of the mayor.

In response to a journalist's question, Gergely Gulyás explained: Hungary's interest is EU membership, and all news related to exiting the Union is fake news.
