The Brain Bar future festival pays tribute to research biologist and biochemist Katalin Karikó with a five-story mural; the artwork on Budapest's Krisztina körút will be completed on the eve of the September 9-10 event.
Next to the portrait of Katalin Karikó, who played a decisive role in the development of the vaccine against the coronavirus, the slogan "The future is written by Hungarians" will appear on the giant firewall, Brain Bar told MTI.
Brain Bar's eternal goal is to strengthen the ambitions of young Hungarians and encourage them to actively shape the future. Every year, we bring role models to the festival who can inspire them in this, but sometimes the role models walk among us. In addition to Katalin Karikó's scientific achievements, she is also doing a huge service to Hungary by proving to the next generation that we have a place among the shapers of the 21st century - Gergely Böszörményi-Nagy, the founder of Brain Bar, is quoted in the announcement.
The work depicting Katalin Karikó was designed and produced by the team of Színes Város, which has many years of experience in firewall paintings, and the implementation of the action is also supported by the government of Hungary, the announcement reads.
