"By September 4, all our government securities and cash that can be used for operations will run out, from then on, the city will operate from a credit line," Ambrus Kiss stated in an interview with Népszava. Financial bankruptcy here or there, even during the primary election campaign, Olga Kálmán can receive her monthly salary of one million, and András Jámbor her monthly salary of six hundred thousand.

According to Deputy Mayor Ambrus Kiss, if the HUF 12 billion subsidy provided for in the budget law for public transport is still not received from the state or the epidemic strikes again, then

"Budapest's financial situation is becoming unmanageable", the capital city government may become insolvent by the end of the year.

There is nothing new in this announcement, there has never really been a left-wing economic management that did not lead a city, capital, or country to the brink of collapse within 1-2 years. And another part of the cliché is that it's always the other person's fault. In connection with the announcement, we cannot find self-reflection or acceptance of responsibility either, the government and the epidemic are solely to blame. It can be assumed that we will never find out what happened to the assets taken over from the Tarlós era. For them, it only fits on campaign posters that they don't want to live in a country without consequences.

"Based on the data for the first half of the year, it can be stated without any doubt: if we do not intervene now, the Budapest municipality will become insolvent by the end of the year," said Deputy Mayor Ambrus Kiss in an interview with Népszava

in order to avoid this, they need to make extensive adjustments to the budget, the capital must add to the HUF 25 billion overdraft facility.

"I can see from the latest figures that all of our government securities and cash that can be used for operations will run out by September 4, so from then on the city will operate from an overdraft facility," said the deputy mayor, then added:

"If everything goes well, it will only take two weeks, as the second part of the business tax advance will arrive. From then on, however, we will just suck up the money again. By the end of the year, the final bill can be brought to zero at the cost of certain sacrifices. On the other hand, if the regulations do not arrive, or if there are more closures due to the epidemic, then we will start next year with many billions in loans, which would violate the Economic Stability Act".

When asked whether the city might not be able to pay the wages, he answered:

"You can't have fun with wages and jobs". "It is not possible for our employees not to receive their wages"

he stated.

He also added:

"if a bankruptcy situation were to arise in a technical sense, then it would be better to withhold money to be paid to the government, if they are already doing this."

The campaigning employees of the capital will therefore not be left without pay either

According to the deputy mayor's statement, despite the bankruptcy threatening the capital, the following employees employed by the capital will not be left without pay:

  • According to  Zsófia Naszádos, her income is HUF 550,000 gross per month. Zsófia Nassádos is the parliamentary representative candidate of the Momentum Movement in electoral district number 7 of Budapest.
  • Dorottya Keszthelyi, according to her  income , net monthly HUF 465,000. Dorottya Keszthelyi is a parliamentary representative candidate of the DK and the Liberals in electoral district number 7 of Budapest.
  • According to  András Jámbor, income is 600,000 forints gross per month. András Jámbor is the parliamentary representative candidate of the Párbeszéd – Szikra Movement in Budapest constituency number 6.
