One of Hungary's oldest companies, Caola Zrt., is preparing for a greenfield investment in Csíkszereda, they want to create a factory unit. To this end, the investor, Csíkszereda municipality and Sapientia University signed a memorandum of understanding, which was reported by Székelyhon.ro.

At Friday's press conference announcing the intention of investment and cooperation , Mayor Attila Korodi reminded that one of the city's most important priorities is economic development, and for this it is necessary to find partners, creating jobs to strengthen the community. He called this a multi-stakeholder challenge, where the municipality takes on a role that it has not played so far. During the cooperation, Csíkszereda's public administration tools are used, and the Sapientia Transylvanian Hungarian University assists Caola Zrt. in training and scientific work in order to establish a factory in the city - he explained, calling this a pioneering step on the part of the municipality in development.

Imre Bándi, the owner and CEO of Caola Kozmetikai és Háztártás Vegyipari Zrt., spoke about how the Hungarian-owned business company founded in 1831, which became really well-known in the last century, went downhill in the last period, so they bought it last year and started to reorganize it . In the process, a large production hall will be built in Martonvásár, where they will primarily manufacture disinfectants for health, public education and other institutions. Since the Caola brand is well known in Transylvania and Romania, they decided to build a factory here as well, they found a partner for this in the municipality and the Sapientia University, so they can rely on the local workforce and knowledge.

Consul Balázs Farkas, on behalf of the Consulate General of Hungary in Csíkszereda, assessed that this investment combines many goals, which are the goals of the Hungarian government, as well as foreign economic and national political goals, as it provides jobs for Hungarian people here. He called it a special pleasure that Sapientia University, maintained by the Hungarian government, can train highly qualified professionals in Székelyföld who can find employment locally.
