The American College of Pediatricians (ACPeds), along with other medical professionals, is suing the Biden administration's decision to allow doctors to perform transgender procedures on anyone, including children, even if it violates the doctor's professional judgment or religious beliefs.
Pursuant to the new law introduced by the Biden administration, the prohibition of sexual discrimination laid down in federal healthcare regulations is also interpreted in relation to sexual orientation and gender identity, i.e. essentially, from now on, doctors cannot determine the gender of their patients.
Participating in the lawsuit against the new law, Dr. According to Michelle Cretella, if we equate gender with gender identity, as if children can be born in the wrong body, we sacrifice science and our children on the altar of political correctness. We quote:

Due to the Biden administration's over-the-top interpretation, doctors now face a crossroads: either go against their convictions by performing controversial and often medically dangerous sex procedures, or face huge fines and lose eligibility for Medicaid and other federal funding programs, leaving them virtually unable to to practice as a doctor.
Dr. Quentin L. Van Meter, president of ACPeds, warned of the potential harms of other sex-change drugs: puberty blockers and sex hormones combine to sterilize many young people and lead to serious chronic diseases such as diabetes, heart disease, stroke and cancer. "
