There will be no multimillion-dollar investment on Szigetcúcs, as Szigetcúcs in Kisoros is declared a protected natural area of national importance, so the investment planned for the site will be stopped, the Ministry of Agriculture emphasized in a statement.

As it was written, when the Danube-Ipoly National Park was established in 1997, due to an administrative error committed during the Horn government, the area touching the northern tip of the Szentendrei Island was not declared protected. Thus, the national park could not fully enforce the landscape and nature conservation aspects there.

The planned 300 million HUF investment will therefore be definitively stopped, so nothing will be realized from the HUF 300 million tourism development.

The amendment to the decree will soon be published in the Hungarian Gazette

The decree amending the nature protection classification will soon be published in the Magyar Közlöny, which will provide an opportunity for a professional review of the previously issued official permits and to stop the investment. Thus, with the entry into force of the amendment to the decree, the nature conservation status of Szigetcúcs becomes legally clearly established.
