They say that the unification of the Hungarian parties in the highlands is an order of the times, because the Hungarians can only enter the parliament if the voters of all three parties vote for the same party. That's math. There are fewer of us every year, we cannot afford the luxury of having the Hungarian Coalition Party, the mixed membership Most-Híd and the barely-measurable Sözefogs run separately in the parliamentary elections...

The author of the article, Olga Szabó, who was the former mayor of the village of Path and a member of parliament of the MKP, recalls the failure of the previous alliances and expresses her doubts about the current alliance as well. We quote some thoughts from his writing.

I remember that there was an order of the day to unify the parties. We wrote 1998, when we voted in the National Council of the Coexistence Political Movement to abolish the party and establish the Hungarian Coalition Party.

Miklós Duray, the chairman of the grassroots, democratic party with a high political culture, had to step aside for the sake of unity, Duray toured the prison, performed on behalf of the Minority Rights Protection Committee for Hungarians in the highlands, while Bugár appeared in a Slovak TV entertainment program dressed in Slovak national costume. He was the Hungarian who was supported by both Slovak and Hungarian media in the highlands.

Then came the big opportunity. The MKP became a government factor. We paid a high price for it. We had to renounce the abolition of the Beneš decrees and autonomy.

Let's face it, MKP's government membership was not exactly a success story.

Some of the politicians who broke away from the MKP founded the Most-Híd mixed party. For them, the goal was not the representation of Hungarians, but the money. Over time, voters have worn them out, and now they are asking to return to where they left from. They have lost their credit, their name is being tarnished in the Gorilla case, but it doesn't bother them.

They have to get into the parliament, because you can only score from the pitch . Without political power, business does not really work either. It seems that business is also very important to the politicians of the Coalition. Another Hungarian party was created . I don't think it's fair to mislead voters, but I think the end justifies the means.

So we have come again to the command of the age. For the union of the three parties. In order for the Alliance to enter parliament, more than 5 percent of the electorate must vote for it.

The problem is that we don't know why we should vote for him? Because Hungarian? It's not even in name. It is disturbing that the delegates are expected to vote for the creation of the new party, while they do not know what the Alliance-Confederation will serve. For some people to have a comfortable life, a well-paid job, or to take on the interests of the dwindling Hungarian population in the highlands.

The electorate will no longer vote for the Alliance because it is the only Hungarian party.
