László Kiss's book "Emberkönt az embertelenséngben" (Human in Inhumanity) was published, which presents the reception of Polish refugees in Hungary and the main drive of the posterity before the humanitarian helpers.

The book shows an example of human love and the survival of thousand-year-old Polish-Hungarian friendship in a critical situation. In an inhumane world, the leadership of the Hungarian state and the responsible officials set an example of humanity.

Taking responsibility for each other is evidenced by II. the exemplary acceptance of tens of thousands of Poles who fled to our country during the Second World War, and helping the young people get educated (see the Polish-language high school and lyceum operated in Zamárdi and then in Boglár).

From the book, we can learn about the history of the artistic copies of the miracle-working icon from Czestochowa, which came to our place of residence and its surroundings as a thank you gift, in the settlements of Zamárdi, Szemes, Boglár, not forgetting the copy of Raffaello's Madonna della Sedia, which was also a gift to Szárszó by the Polish refugees.

The book is an interesting read, which provides historical knowledge about this era, documented with photographs from the time and today, and also serves to fill the reader's mind.

The publication of the volumes in Hungarian and Polish was supported by the Balatonboglár Municipality, the Civil Solidarity Foundation and the WACLAW FELCZAK FOUNDATION.

The books are available from the author, László Kiss ( [email protected] ).
