The main commitment of Hungarian family policy is to make children an economic advantage. We want women to be able to choose whether to work or not, but not to have an existential pressure to work or not - this is what Viktor Orbán talked about in the IV. at the demographic peak of Budapest.
The prime minister announced that 5 percent of domestic GDP will be spent on family benefits, these are important steps, but not enough. The Budapest Demographic Summit is not just a conference. The difficulty of demographic questions is not only the complexity of recognition.
It is at least as difficult to translate insights into political measures, Prime Minister Viktor Orbán said. He emphasized that this was also the biggest challenge during his prime ministership.
Together with my colleagues Adrej Babis and Janez Jansa, we want to persuade the EU politicians not to support migration and not to support same-sex families. Together, we must convince EU politicians to stop using the Balkans as a buffer zone for their own convenience. The union cannot be complete without Serbia and its region. Hungary will support the integration of Serbia.
Western civilization cannot reproduce itself. Many people cannot decide whether this is good or bad. Some people perceive the demographic problem, but want to solve it with migration. These ideas do not take into account the cultural aspect of the demographic problem, emphasized the Prime Minister.
He added: for us, migration is an identity issue. It is possible that the lost workforce can be replaced outside of Europe, but cooperation and coexistence are not possible in Europe without a common culture and traditions.
We see that in the West, they already want to educate children on the sidelines in kindergartens. This is part of the new Marxist movement. We in Central Europe know this, we are vaccinated against the "woke virus, we lived in this for almost forty years," he said. The only solution to population decline is for the state to help families start families.
The Hungarian cabinet ruling since 2010 has built its family policy on five pillars:
1. children should also represent an economic advantage,
2. families can live in their own homes,
3. family policy must be based on mothers,
4. the country must be made family-friendly,
5. families and their benefits must also be supported on a legal basis.
These are important steps, but they are not enough, he said, adding that the termination of pregnancies has decreased by 41 percent since 2010.
Viktor Orbán also spoke about the fact that we held national consultations and referendums in order to strengthen the defense lines. No one in Western Europe and Brussels ever asked people about LGBTQ propaganda and migration.
The prime minister said that having a child is a joy, but not as much as going to the amusement park. Having children is often difficult, but it helps us. Viktor Orbán also spoke about how the most important thing is to find our lives worth continuing and this can only be achieved through children. The prime minister also spoke about how Pope Francis encouraged him in matters of family protection.
