The last few weeks clearly show the weakening of the left and the strengthening of the governing parties, according to the September e-benchmark survey commissioned by the Democratic Party.

"Since the papal visit and the opposition primary election debate - which was not really a debate at all - fell during the data collection period, it can be assumed that neither of these two events benefited the left," reads the Democrat.

If you have to choose between the joint candidate of Fidesz-KDNP and the rainbow coalition, the opposition alliance has weakened by four percent, but the support of the governing parties has not changed compared to August, meaning that the national side now has a clear advantage.

Examining the support of the parties separately, we also see that Fidesz increased its advantage over the second-placed DK by five percent, and two percent more people also said that a change of government would not be good for the country.

As for the prime minister candidates: the opposition aspirants still cannot get close to Viktor Orbán, among the prime minister's potential challengers, the support of Klára Dobrev and Péter Jakab is unchanged, while that of Gergely Karácsony and András Fekete-Győr has decreased by one percent each compared to August, i.e. the balance of power they have not been substantially changed. It is interesting that András Fekete-Győr is at the end of the list, after Péter Márki-Zay is already ahead of him.
