The work of art erected in honor of folk woodcarving artist Igó Aladár, Knight of Hungarian Culture, was inaugurated in his native village of Hanva.

Aladár Igó was born in Hanva in 1931, and his first exhibition was held here in 1947. During his military service in Moravia, he was exempted from daily duty, and he painted and sculpted. After his demobilization, he worked as a self-employed farmer, and then became an employee of the Sajólénartfalva cooperative. In 1968, Mihály Tompa, his solo exhibition was opened in his native village. In 1973, the Rimaszombat organization and district committee of the Csemadok organized an Igó Aladár evening, and his exhibition opened in the Gömör Museum.

First prize in Rimaszombat, second prize in small plastic at the National Folk Art Exhibition in Bésztercebánya. could receive his degree. In 1992, Panna Czinka in Sajógömör. In 1999, Zsuzsanna Erdélyi presented the portrait film "The Art of Igó Aladár" on Duna Television. In 2004, he was awarded the Officer's Cross of the Order of Merit of the Hungarian Republic, and in 2011, the memorial park in which his public works were placed was inaugurated in Hanvá.
