The history of Hungarians is not only linked to the tools of ancient Hungarian warfare, the horse is at least as closely related to it as a means of transport, a tractor, and nowadays as a tool for leisure sports. But the horse, riding, also has a little-mentioned role: it can have a healing effect.
The goal of the Hungarian Equine Therapy Association Foundation, which was born in 1997, is the continuous training and further training of specialists with different qualifications dealing with equine therapy, since as it turned out, many people, in many places, carry out this activity with very different approaches and at different standards. Since 1997, the MLTSZ has been organizing a 2-week further training course every autumn in order to train professionals.
This year, the educational programs will take place in the second half of October.
The autumn training block begins with the preparation program for riding exams. Since they were unable to carry out the riding exams last year due to the epidemic restrictions, they are expecting a lot more candidates this year compared to previous years. The autumn training block ends with our 4-day equine therapy assistant course, for which we welcome applications from people who would like to help the work of the equine therapists during therapy sessions.
Every year since 2007, the Foundation has organized intensive, complex therapy weeks and summer camps for children attending equestrian therapy sessions with the support of the MOL Foundation's Children's Healing Program. This therapeutic program complements and makes the therapeutic process that takes place during the academic year more effective. The camps are divided into age groups and are designed with themes suitable for preschool, elementary school, adolescent and adolescent children. The program is attended by children suffering from various psychological disorders, as well as learning disabilities, intellectual disabilities, autism, visually impaired and mobility impaired children, 50-60 people in the summer.
