Lego removes signs referring to gender stereotypes from its toys . The Danish company producing the world's most popular construction toy has decided to no longer distinguish whether a certain product package is made for boys or girls, so that children can create freely, reports Index .

The company's decision was based on research that examined the behavior of parents and children. The mentioned sample showed, for example, that boys who played with Lego labeled as girls could be teased by their peers. Guardian wrote .

On the Lego website, it is no longer possible to filter the packages according to gender, instead the site offers themes such as Harry Potter, DC or Star Wars.

We are working to make Lego more inclusive. Our job now is to encourage boys and girls who want to play with kits not "traditionally" made for them

- said Julia Goldin, product and marketing manager of the Lego Group.
