It's no surprise that the Brussels bureaucracy immediately starts threatening if something doesn't happen the way they envisioned, Justice Minister Judit Varga pointed out on her Facebook page.

After last week's decision of the Polish Constitutional Court, the European Parliament did not have to wait long for the European Parliament to sign up for the ever-restarting competition of "who is the greater defender of the European rule of law and democracy", wrote the Minister of Justice.

In recent years, the European Parliament has become the scene of petty political battles. While the migration crisis, the withdrawal of the British and a pandemic took place in the Union, the Parliament was and is still preoccupied only with its ideological interests and the expansion of its own powers.

The EP in its current form has failed. It has become an opaque institution influenced by lobbies and backroom deals, where the representatives often reinterpret the provisions of the treaties and hold sovereign states accountable for issues that clearly fall under the jurisdiction of the member states.

They also do not shy away from putting other European institutions under pressure by vindicating their powers. They do all this because there are people who think differently than they would like.

An excellent example of this process is that the chairman and vice-chairman of the EP legal committee recently stated that if the European Commission refuses to act in the case of Poles and Hungarians within a tight deadline and does not apply the rule of law conditionality regulation, they are ready for the EU Court of Justice to the executive body led by Ursula von der Leyen is cited.

As long as the institutions are competing with each other, it is important that we, Hungarians, arm in arm with our Polish friends, continue to boldly accept our opinion and stick to our principles and values, said the Minister of Justice on his social media page.

Representing the Hungarian government, I informed Europe's leading politicians in a letter about Hungary's stance in favor of Polish sovereignty and national constitutional values, Judit Varga wrote on her Facebook page on Thursday evening.

The decision of the Polish Constitutional Court sheds light on the incorrect practice of the Union's institutions, since the basic treaties of the European Union clearly state which powers Brussels has and which powers have been retained by the member states, he said.

He emphasized: The primacy of EU law can only exist in those areas where the European Union has competence. Powers that the Member States have not transferred to the Union remain with the Member States.

Despite this, unfortunately, it is increasingly common that these institutions - contrary to the provisions of the contract - exceed their own powers. After Germany, however, Poland also ordered this process to stop. Judit Varga emphasized: We will not let the EU institutions endanger the constitutional system and national identity of some member states by violating the treaties.

We stand by Poland's sovereignty and say no to the stealthy
extension of powers! can be read in the post.
