Venczel Vera Jászai, Hungarian actress, worthy and excellent artist, who died at the age of 76, announced the Vígszínház.

Venczel Vera died in his home, surrounded by his loved ones, on Friday. The Vígsthínház considers the eternal member of the Society of the Immortals to be its own dead.

The actress was a member of the Vígszínház troupe for more than fifty years, where she played a series of memorable roles and legendary roles, and also appeared in countless Hungarian films, the theater announced.

"Goodness and purity emanated from the characters she portrayed, delicate, fragile femininity and passion for acting radiated from her playing. His outstanding acting skills, commitment to work and capacity for carrying loads, combined with kindness and modesty. He always paid a lot of attention to his colleagues, friends and family members, and turned to the people around him with interest and affection," reads the theater's appreciation.

Venczel Vera was born on March 10, 1946 in Budapest. She was accepted to the Academy of Theater and Film Arts for the first time, her class teacher was Géza Pártos, who wanted her student to sign a contract with the Madách Theater, but Zoltán Várkonyi - who already noticed the talented young girl during the admission - offered her a role at the Comedy Theater at the end of her second year. From then on, he showed his talent not only on the Ódry Színpad, but also in the Vígszínház in smaller and bigger roles, and then in 1967, as a 21-year-old college student, he played the lead role as a partner of Géza Tordy, Nándor Tomanek and László Tóth Tóth in Weingarten's play The Summer at the Pesti Theater.

Thanks to his talent, he was noticed by film and television at a young age, and he got roles one after another. Zoltán Kárpáthy, The Three Nights of One Love, The Study of Women and The Stars of Eger were all made during his college years.

After graduating in 1968, Zoltán Várkonyi immediately signed her to the Vígszínház, where a series of great roles awaited her: she was Szonya in Uncle Ványa, Marianne in The Tale of Vienna Woods, and Adele in Bernarda Alba's House. She played the main role in Tersánszky's adaptation entitled See you, dear, and Greskova in the direction of István Horvai Platonov.

Since the nineties, he has been renewed as an actor and achieved professional success. Important meetings for him were joint works with the director Sándor Zsótér, in which he always participated with incredible humility and dedication as an actor: Farewell Symphony, Spring Awakening, Szechuan Prosperity, Caucasian Chalk Circle, Blue Bird and Winter Journey. In the meantime, he showed his playfulness and comic streak night after night in Sógornők and Monokli. One of his last theater roles was The Red Lion - the theater's announcement recalls his career.

In addition to the Vígszínház, he often played as a guest artist in other theaters and appeared in numerous TV shows and films. His performances (Pillangó, The Black City) born with exceptional sensitivity and experience were awarded at several TV festivals. She received the Golden Nymph Award in Monte Carlo for her portrayal of the female lead in the Móricz TV adaptation Butterfly. He received the level award of the Hungarian Radio several times. In 1977, he was awarded the Critics' Award for his performance in the play Játék a téren. Mari Jászai Award in 1975, Irén Varsányi Memorial Ring in 1977, Kazinczy Award in 1987, Éva Ruttkai Memorial Ring in 2003, Andor Ajtay Memorial Award in 2004, Páger Ring and Premier Award in 2005, In 2010, he was awarded the Merited Artist award. In 2008, he became a permanent member of the Society of Immortals. In 2021, he won the prize of the Hungarian Academy of Arts.
