Hospitals in Temesvár are unheated in the middle of the fourth wave. The mayor said that the service provider would triple the utility prices, so without the intervention of the government, the district heating system in Temesvár would not survive the winter. More than 56,000 apartments and five hospitals were left without heating.

The energy crisis has hit the people of Temesvár so much that spring will be too late for them tomorrow. Meanwhile, E.On is also looking for a solution to the problem of hospitals. If the epidemic wasn't enough, an energy crisis also broke out in Timișoara on Tuesday. The local district heating provider, Colterm, has officially become insolvent due to its huge accumulated debt of around 320 million lei, and E.On and Delgaz have shut off the gas taps.

As a result, around 50,000 households in Temesvár and all 6 state hospitals of the county seat were left without heating and hot water from noon on Tuesday.

The situation is so depressing that, in addition to the mayor of the city, Raul Pătrașcu, the head of the county hospital, made an appeal to the domestic gas providers, because he believes that the current situation could lead to a disaster. A sick body can't even fight the cold, so the superhuman work of doctors can be in vain if they don't urgently restore the heating in hospitals.

E.On soon in a statement , indicating that they are willing to enter into a separate contract with the hospitals and deliver gas directly to them.

The only problem is that this scenario can only be used for hospitals that have their own thermal center

according to Mayor Dominic Fritz, this is the case in only two cases out of six, in the Victor Babeș Epidemic Hospital and the Odobescu Maternity Hospital.

According to Raul Pătrașcu, for example, the county hospital only now, when the crisis broke out, received a promise from the county council for an extra grant of 750,000 lei, from which they can restore their own heating system, which has been inoperable since 2006, as an emergency measure, but it is a good question when something will happen.

In the meantime, they are trying to keep their patients' spirits up with their air conditioning equipment, which can also be used for heating (in principle, they can withstand temperatures down to -5 degrees) and blankets.

Dominic Fritz also said that they are currently trying to reach an agreement with the gas providers to purchase at least a smaller amount of natural gas, while trying to switch to coal burning wherever possible. However, for this they need to request coal from state reserves,

however, this would only be possible with an emergency government decree, while the acting government does not have the authority to do so.

According to Fritz, however, in addition to the current energy crisis and natural gas shortage, state support is essential, especially since Temesvár is the second largest district heating provider in the country after Bucharest.

According to him, Colterm's bankruptcy was brought forward by the fact that until now it provided the service well below the production price, so he proposed doubling the prices charged to consumers in Timișoara.
