In November, the Hungarian Reformed Charity Service launched several aid campaigns with the aim of helping more than nine thousand families and elderly people living in difficult circumstances at Christmas, the organization announced.

They wrote that in October, 3,000 so-called love boxes were delivered to schools, workplaces and churches across the country. Perishable food, cleaning and hygiene products are collected in the displayed boxes. With this, they help 6,000 families and elderly people in difficult circumstances.

Anyone can support the campaign, even from home by calling the donation line 1358 (each call and SMS costs HUF 500) or via the website adomany.jobbadni.hu. The action lasts until November 30, after which the charity service staff will deliver the donations to those in need during the Advent period.

In addition to the food collection, between November 2nd and 30th, the Hungarian Reformed Charity Service will give voice to the wishes of 3,000 needy children. The requests collected on the website lovebox.jobbadni.hu came from parents of children who are brought up in modest financial circumstances and whose parents do not have the opportunity to give them gifts.

Donors can fulfill personalized wishes in two ways: they can purchase them and deliver them to one of the collection points of the charity service, or if they do not have the opportunity to do so, they can contribute to the success of the program by paying the amount indicated next to the wish. The collected donations will be handed over to the parents by the Hungarian Reformed Charity Service, they added.

They announced that this year they announced their program called Nyilas Misi Pakk among the Reformed congregations. During the collection campaign, previously known as the "shoe box", the charity offers storybooks and toys. The packages put together by the donors must indicate the age and gender of the child they are intended for. The gifts collected in this way will be given to needy children living in Transcarpathia, they wrote.

As they wrote, they don't forget about the homeless either: on the first weekend of November, 450 portions of hot food are distributed among the needy in the capital.
