Péter Niedermüller is awaiting an internal investigation into the scandal that broke out in connection with the planned sale of the City Hall. The SE mayor of Erzsébetváros, when asked by the Mediaworks News Center, believed that Gergely Karácsony had no other options, Magyar Nemzet reports.

"I am convinced that the mayor cannot do anything but launch an internal investigation. If you file a report due to fraud, you must provide a thorough justification, otherwise the investigating authority will reject it. So I'm sure that a multi-directional investigation will take place, which I think is right, because whatever the outcome of this story, it's a serious matter," Niedermüller said, adding that he and Karácson will be discussed next Monday.

The basic news was aired by Index yesterday, at which time Karácsony responded by saying that he no longer reads the portal. However, on Friday, the case was expanded with new developments: as reported by Index with the presentation of documents, Northern Rock Kft., owned by Zsolt Berki, entrusted Beák és Társa Ingatlanközvetítő Kft. with the sale of the Városháza. According to the contract, the company would receive a consulting fee of 1,150,000 euros, i.e. more than 400 million forints, for the real estate brokerage. The owner, Attila Endre Beák, is a recognized name in the real estate brokerage industry and is also a member of the board of the Hungarian Real Estate Association (Maisz). Attila Beák is also known for selling the MSZP II. Pope János Pál's headquarters on the former Republic Square. According to the contract obtained by Index, the purchase price of the City Hall would be EUR 100 million plus VAT, which exceeds HUF 40 billion. In the event of a successful sale, I would also pay the brokerage fee to Beák és Társa Ingatlanközvetítő Kft. from this huge amount.

Another reaction of Karácsony to this was a denunciation.
