He put the debate on the migration crisis on the Polish-Belarusian border on the agenda of the plenary session of the European Parliament using an emergency procedure.

Gál Kinga , the president of the Fidesz EP representative group, emphasized in the debate that the effective protection of external borders must finally be recognized as an indisputable manifestation of European solidarity, and thus the European Commission must provide financial support as soon as possible, even for border closures.

Gál Kinga condemned the use of migration as a threat by Belarus and assured Poland of the full solidarity of the Fidesz representative group. "It is time for the European Commission to do this immediately, beyond words, by actively helping and financing the border protection of the member states!".

The representative pointed out that there is a serious migration and security crisis on the Polish-Belarusian border. "The new migration crisis that has developed, which threatens to be an even bigger disaster than the one in 2015, confirms the Hungarian position that has been voiced for years, according to which the protection of the EU's external borders must finally become a priority. Migrants should not be distributed, migration should not be managed with the help of agencies, but mass illegal migration should be stopped at the external borders. Hungary has shown that this is possible. We have already spent HUF 590 billion from our own national budget on border protection".

The Fidesz representative explained: "the European Commission recently responded to their official inquiry about the fence being built on the Greek-Turkish border, that although EU funding supports the member states in border management, the construction or maintenance of fences or barriers at the external borders of the EU has never received support from the EU from the budget. "However, this border protection must finally be recognized as an indisputable manifestation of European solidarity. It is time for the Commission to see this and provide quick financial assistance to the efforts of the Member States concerned. Enough of the words, there is no time for technical discussions. This is the only way we can protect our safety," Kinga Gál warned.
