Twenty years ago this year, the first part of the film series based on the Harry Potter books was released. On this occasion, between December 9th and 12th, Italian cinemas will once again show the first part, Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone, to the chagrin of the local LGBTQ community, reports vasarnap.hu.

Fans of the film series across the country welcomed the announcement with great enthusiasm, but the LGBTQ community is trying to boycott the film. Although JK Rowling cannot be said to be a conservative writer, several of her statements have recently been given a bad name by the LGBTQ community. In 2020, the writer was attacked because she claimed in her Twitter post that one does not become a woman just because she thinks she is.

Later, 150 writers, scientists and activists, including the dreamer of Harry Potter, launched a petition in which they believed in freedom of expression and condemned the restriction of debate. As they said, they don't think it's right to suppress open discussions. In the letter, they spoke out against the fashion of public shaming and exclusion and against "blinding moral certainty"...

Now, a year after what happened, Italy's LGBTQ community is still hungry for revenge. Their target is the screening of the Harry Potter film in December. On social media, fans are invited to boycott and ask that no one attend the screening.

One of the many tweets is quoted by the Italian website Provita e Famiglia. The post reads: “JK Rowling is transphobic and makes no secret of it. Do you want to see Harry Potter in the cinema? Just leave, but don't come with excuses like "you have to separate the film from its creator" and similar excuses. Be honest and say that you selfishly want to see a movie you loved.”

2022plus: The Italian LGBTQ and who knows how many other letter societies are certainly not interested in our portal's opinion - just like theirs are not ours - but we have to state: Rowling is right. A man who says he is will not be a woman. Add to that, she can't even give birth, even if the deranged idiots of the European Parliament decided that she could. Only he who has a womb can give birth, and he who has is a woman. This is not a matter of debate, but a biological fact. Also, only women menstruate , even when purple snow falls.

And yes, dear hapless Italian tweeter, normal people want to watch a good movie, not bearded unfortunates parading around in pink tulle skirts. It's not selfishness, it's called: normality.
