Security policy expert László Földi told Magyar Hírlap
According to László Földi, the situation will definitely continue to escalate, since this is more complicated than a border situation, the current migration is actually an invasion. And Lukashenka definitely wants to bring the union to the negotiating table. The Poles, on the other hand, will not let the migrants in under any circumstances.
The security policy expert believes that the scenario may even include migrants stranded in Belarus being transported by the Kyiv leadership to the Hungarian border. According to him, such a provocation is conceivable before the Hungarian elections in the spring, provoking a domestic political crisis with such a move.
The current situation is already beyond the form of a cold war. Further escalation should be avoided by all means, instead of new sanctions, the parties should focus on the agreement, stated László Földi.
