For the twentieth time, the Transylvanian Museum Association (EME) in Cluj-Napoca is organizing online a series of events called The Day of Hungarian Science in Transylvania, within the framework of which a conference covering a number of specialist fields will be held.
In the Wednesday issue of the Transylvanian daily Krónika, he recalled that in 2002 the EME joined the Hungarian Academy of Science's series of events entitled A celebration of Hungarian science. The date of the Hungarian Science Day in Transylvania is traditionally the weekend closest to November 23 , and the organizers also remember the EME's founding general meeting in 1859. This year's programs also celebrate the 20th anniversary of the first organization of the conference.
The outstanding event of the series of celebrations is the inauguration of the Mikó memorial stone in the Mikó garden in Cluj-Napoca in the Mikó villa, which is currently at the service of education and science. EME originally wanted to inaugurate the Mikó memorial stone at the event two years ago, on the 160th anniversary of the association's existence, but due to administrative obstacles, this could not take place then.
As part of the opening, welcoming speeches and celebratory plenary lectures will be given, the organizers have invited young Transylvanian researchers for the latter again this year. The series of plenary lectures will be opened by immunologist Anna Erdei In the second part of the program, the departments and branch associations of the EME will hold their analytical conference raising the current issues of their own scientific field and region.
The main patron of the event taking place on Friday and Saturday is Tamás Freund , president of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences.
