It was one of the most important votes of this year in the Slovak parliament - read on the korkep.sk portal. By re-accepting the family support package, the veto of the liberal head of state, Zuzana Čaputová, was broken. For 77 MPs, families are still important in these difficult times.

As compensation for high inflation, families can enjoy the following extra money: from July 1, the family allowance will be increased by 30 euros. The tax bonus for each child will be increased by 70 euros, from January 1 the family allowance will rise to 40 euros, the tax bonus will increase by 100 euros.

Matovič played vabank. Representatives of the opposition SaS, the opposition Hlas, the opposition Smer, as well as Zaludí, which became the opposition, and almost the entire press lined up against him. The OLaNO representatives who criticized the package and agreed with the head of state's veto eventually voted to overturn the veto. Igor Matovič achieved so much in his club, the strongest faction of the parliament, OLaNO, which has 53 representatives, that if the liberals, progressives, anti-Matovič cannot line up a majority behind the Čaputová veto (they didn't know, only 68 votes came together), then vote for their own party's family support proposal. And that happened.

If we look at who voted, we see that the 77 came together like this: OLaNO + Sme rodina + family-friendly representatives of ĽSNS. In essence, what has now lined up behind the veto is the right-wing camp of the parliament. The following conclusions can be drawn from the results: This country is still not completely in the hands of liberals and progressives, Igor Matovič still has a majority in the parliament.

The right-wing, Christian vs. The fight between the leftist and progressive camp did not end there. On the contrary, it is just beginning. Anyone who complains that OLaNO and Sme rodina voted with the "fascists" FOR THE SUPPORT OF FAMILIES can also complain that SaS has sided with the actors of the former mafia government, Smer and Hlas. Which one is better?

Of course Zuzana Čaputová also indicated that if the veto is broken, she will appeal to the Constitutional Court. Igor Matovič has already stated that he is not afraid of this. The election campaign for the next parliamentary elections has begun. On one side are Christian, right-wing, conservative forces pursuing policies similar to Fidesz (77 votes), and on the other side are pro-Brussels, pro-Ukraine liberals, leftists, and progressives.

Cards are dealt again, as always, the decision is in the hands of the voter.
