As previously reported by 888.hu, the Prostasia Foundation conducted an interview with an assistant professor at the American Old Dominion University. Allyn Walker, who is also transgender, spoke about it, insisting that instead of the term "pedophile" the term "Minor Attracted People" (MAP) is used, because otherwise the feelings of pedophiles may be hurt.
In the interview, Walker said that pedophilia is just a form of sexual attraction and should be tolerated.
Due to Walker's statements, Old Dominion University issued a statement saying that he has been suspended effective immediately , but will continue to receive his salary. According to the statement, reactions to Walker's research area and his previously published book raise concerns for the campus and his safety.
"I want to state in the strongest possible terms that child sexual abuse is morally wrong and has no place in our society," University President Brian O. Hemphill
Following the outcry , Walker also issued a joint statement with the university stating that he considers child sexual abuse an unforgivable crime.
