Péter Márki-Zay would bring back the left-liberal economic policy and even considers the minimum wage unnecessary.
According to Fidesz, the left is jeopardizing the economic results achieved since 2010, and its economic policy would pull the ground from under the feet of more than a million workers , the spokesperson of the ruling party said in a video statement on Friday.
Róbert Zsigó reminded that from January the government will raise the minimum wage and the guaranteed minimum wage by another 20 percent. He said: the minimum wage can be raised if the economy grows and businesses are not burdened with high taxes.
This has only been the case since 2010, but with the economic policy of the Gyurcsány-Márki-Zay left wing, the minimum wage could not be raised, the government politician underlined.
He emphasized that the left is pushing the same bad, flawed economic policy with which they destroyed the economy, taxed businesses to death and kept wages low during their administration.
He said that the left managed to raise the minimum wage from HUF 50,000 to HUF 73,500 during two government cycles, and businesses were not helped, but hit with tax increases.
"Despite this, the left has been constantly attacking Fidesz's national economic policy since 2010, even though it has brought clear results: the Hungarian economy is on the path to growth, taxes are falling, employment is increasing and wages are also increasing," stated Róbert Zsigó.
