The European Court of Justice and the European Commission want to achieve with the ruling in the case of the "Stop Soros" legal package that Hungary will allow migrants in, but their efforts will not achieve their goal, because "Hungary is still a fortress", Judit Varga told the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung (FAZ).

In an interview published in the Saturday edition of the conservative German newspaper, the Minister of Justice called the judgment announced by the Court of Justice of the European Union on Tuesday quite amazing, according to which Hungary violated EU law by criminalizing the activity of assisting the initiation of asylum procedures for people who are not entitled to international protection.

He stated: they are attacking the very law that is meant to protect Europe from illegal migration and its illegal support, "so essentially the European Court of Justice and the European Commission want Hungary to let illegal migrants in."

He explained that "the migration system of the European Union does not work", but Hungary had a "very well-functioning system of legal rules", which, through the institution of a transit zone closed to the Schengen area and open to safe third countries, "ensured that it would decrease throughout Europe illegal migration".

However, the transit zones had to be abolished, so all those rejected asylum seekers who cannot be sent home remain illegally in the territory of the state, and this "contradicts the principle of sovereignty enshrined in the Basic Law".

"Regardless of this, we will not allow illegal migrants in, Hungary is still a fortress," underlined Judit Varga.

As he said, the case is not about whether Community law should be applied, but about whether "European law does not work effectively". This is also shown by the crisis situation on the border of Lithuania and Poland, in which it was not possible to wait for some EU decision, but "immediate action and creative solutions of the sovereign member states were needed".
