The national chief medical officer considers the vaccination action week extremely successful; on the first day, Monday, more than 131,000 people received the vaccine against the coronavirus.
In a video recorded at one of the vaccination points and published on the Facebook page of the Hungarian government, Cecília Müller said: there is a lot of traffic at the vaccination points, people are taking advantage of the opportunity and "they heard our appeal". According to his explanation, on the first day of the action week, Monday, more than 131 thousand people took the vaccine: 105 thousand received the third vaccine, which strengthened their body's immune system, so - as he put it -
"contributed to being protected against the delta variant as well".
He added that 18,000 people received their first vaccination, which "started the journey during which they become protected".
"I thank you for recognizing the importance of this, for feeling responsible for your own health and that of your fellow human beings"
said Cecília Müller. He reminded that during the vaccination campaign week, the vaccination points are waiting for those who want to be vaccinated between 7 am and 7 pm.
For those who have not yet had the opportunity to be vaccinated, Cecília Müller recommended that they take the first vaccine. And those whose second vaccination has passed 4-6 months ago, he asked them to take advantage of the third, confirmatory vaccination.
"This virus doesn't discriminate, it spreads from person to person, and the most effective way to avoid getting infected is to get vaccinated"
he emphasized.
