The Hungarian government's committed goal is to strengthen the economy of rural areas within the framework of the "Renewable countryside, renewable agriculture" program. As the latest stage of the program, the call for tenders entitled Diversification of non-agricultural activities - Development of rural tourism was published - the Ministry of Agriculture announced on Friday. The available planned budget is HUF 50 billion.

As written in the announcement, the purpose of the call is to support the start-up or existing accommodation service activities of agricultural producers who are micro-enterprises operating in rural areas, as well as to strengthen income generation and employment.

Within the framework of the call, it is possible, among other things, to further develop the accommodations already operated by the farmers or to create new ones, to develop related additional tourist services, and to acquire the necessary equipment. The planned amount available for support is HUF 50 billion.

The amount of non-refundable support that can be applied for is a maximum of HUF 100 million, while the maximum amount of support can be 50-70 percent of all eligible costs based on regional classification criteria. It will be possible to submit grant applications from December 8. Details of the call can be found at www.palyazat.gov.hu, the ministry informed.
