While Hungary is protecting its borders beyond its power and finally many more Hungarians are settling home than are leaving, the opposition posters contain false information about the extent of migration. They advertise on hundreds of posters that they think the government has settled 55,297 migrants, while György Soros says none. This is exactly as true as when 23 million Romanians complained about the dual citizenship of Hungarians across the border.

But let's see why.

The magical number 55,297 can be found in a KSH table, which shows the number of foreign citizens immigrating to Hungary in 2019 according to their country of citizenship. According to the KSH's exact data, 38,511 of them, i.e. seventy percent of all immigrants, come from Europe, and 28,439 of them, so roughly half of the immigrants came from bordering and neighboring countries, which makes it likely that a significant number of them are of Hungarian nationality. This already raises the question of who considers our Hungarian compatriots across the border to be migrants? But let's not get into that right now.

The remaining ten thousand European settlers came from twenty-some different European countries, most of them from Germany. Hearing the news about European conditions, it is even conceivable that they are, for example, Germans who feel safer than us and therefore chose Hungary as their new country. We know about such things.

Only thirty percent of the 55,297 settlers came from outside Europe: twelve and a half thousand from Asia, almost three thousand from America and just under one and a half thousand from Africa. And perhaps it is not surprising that they did not primarily come from countries affected by illegal migration from Asia, since, for example, only 250 people from Syria appear in the statistics. The accusation that Hungary sells settlement bonds en masse, primarily to Chinese citizens, is also unfounded, since the Chinese also appear in a very small number (2,354) in the table. And Africa gives the smallest slice to foreigners immigrating to Hungary.

The distortion, the superficial (or rather conscious) interpretation of the data is therefore clearly visible, which is much more alarming than confidence-inspiring from a formation preparing to govern. The current left-wing Prime Minister candidate is trying to convey a message that is not supported by the facts at all. Is the appearance of authenticity not so important anymore? And according to them, neither is money? A very expensive campaign was not worth building on such a lie.
