In the energy crisis raging in Europe, 19 EU member states have already decided to try to lower household energy prices, either partially or entirely following the example of the Hungarian utility reduction model.

It has been proven that, despite the pressure exerted by Brussels bureaucrats and the Hungarian left, the consistent stance in favor of low utility prices was the right decision - according to the statement of the Fidesz-KDNP EP representative group sent to Magyar Hírlap on Wednesday.

According to the summary of the Bruegel Institute, in the autumn of 2021, 19 countries , i.e. almost three quarters of the member states of the European Union, have proposed or implemented measures aimed at reducing household energy prices. Official pricing, similar to the Hungarian overhead reduction, was introduced in seven countries, including France and Spain.

It can be stated that the Hungarian government's policy of reducing overheads consistently pursued since 2013 has become a generally followed example in Europe. It has been proven that cutting overhead is the best way to protect people from market price fluctuations.
