During this year's Advent, Reformatus.hu is preparing for the coming of the Lord with a poem every week. The poems were written by poet János Lackfi, recited by actor Zoltán Rajkai, and animated director and illustrator Melinda Szabó-Nyulász provided accompanying graphics.
I was extremely attracted by the task that was set for me, I felt that I had something to say about Advent and waiting. János József Lackfi, a Hungarian poet, writer and translator who won the Attila Prize, told reformatus.hu. After all, it is pure impossibility to wait for God, who is here with us every minute of every day! Somehow, however, he would like year after year if the longing for him would flare up in us more and more, just as a fruit should ripen, day by day, barely perceptibly.

It was just as important to hear more and more urgently from all sides: Jesus calls us to unity. It was a pleasure to be the messenger of the NEK, to write the script for a Luther cartoon, and now to contribute my texts to the Christmas program of the Pentecostal Church and the Advent waiting of the Reformed Church. God is not polygamous, he does not have a harem, but he has only one bride. Who we are. In other words, it is a joy to be able to pray in unity across denominations here and there. This isn't some fake collapse or self-surrender. But how the world recognizes how much we love each other. How free are Catholics and Protestants, free Christians, to stand before God with one heart? So that we don't look askance at each other's church, but look at it with joy, see, brothers live there too! This is very uplifting... At the same time, we do not have to give up our religious treasures at all, in fact, we should delve into them, row out to the depths. While we can hold each other in God's love without hurting each other or diminishing our characteristics. This is what we were invited to do.
The poems are performed in the videos by actor Zoltán Rajkai, actor of the József Katona Theater. – For me, my soul strongly resonates with the way János sees the world, and the way he articulates it playfully, with humor, at the same time aptly, succinctly, emblematically here and there, and imbued it all with faith. said the artist
The magical animations for the poems were created by Melinda Szabó-Nyulász, who was curious about how religion and humor meet in the text. It was obvious that there would be some kind of acceptance and gentleness in it, but I like Lackfi that his poems have a brave, slightly complicit, playful humor, he explained. He wanted the poem not to be overwhelmed by the many graphic elements, so that the graphic has a movement that returns to itself, with a continuous soothing sway.
