In the center of Marosvásárhely, the community institution Studium HUB, realized with the support of the Hungarian state, was handed over on Sunday, in which, in addition to an incubator house and coworking space for civil organizations, a cultural center and a podcast studio, there are also medical and artistic service apartments.

An entrepreneur started building a hotel on Bolyai Street in Marosvásárhely, next to the Unitarian Church, on a lot owned by the Unitarian Church, but his plans were not realized. As the Studium-Prospero Foundation announced on its website: the half-finished building was leased from the Unitarian Church for forty years, in order to change its purpose and transform it into a three-thousand-square-meter, four-story community space and fill it with life.

In his greeting, János Árpád Potápi, the State Secretary responsible for national policy at the Prime Minister's Office, said: the community square serves the people of Marosvásárhely and also plays a role in bringing the Romanian and Hungarian people closer together.

According to the state secretary, everyone can be proud of the fact that in Hungarian history, at least in the last century, there has not been another decade as successful as the one that is passing now. Kindergartens, churches, and public spaces were built during this period. He added: the success is joint, since the goals were formulated together with the Hungarian communities across the border, and their realization took place with joint work and the support of the Hungarian government.

János Árpád Potápi also noted: even more important than the constructions, however, was the strengthening of the Hungarians' sense of national belonging during this period.

According to Kelemen Hunor, the Deputy Prime Minister of the Romanian government, all the functions of the building serve the purpose of keeping Marosvásárhely's intellectuals. The politician reminded him that at the time he was approached by the contractor planning the construction of the hotel, and also by the head of the Studium-Prospero Foundation. The institution that has just been handed over was born from the meeting of good ideas.

Vass Levente, Secretary of State for Health in Romania and the executive president of the Studium-Prospero Foundation, spoke in his welcome speech about the fact that preserving the well-being of community organizations is not enough.

"By stepping out of our comfort zone, we must set an example in terms of innovation and reaching out"

the politician stated.

Pastor László Nagy, speaking for the Unitarian Church, considered it important that the monument building, which housed the Unitarian prayer house in the 19th century and later the Oroszlán restaurant, was not demolished, but integrated into the new building.

The Studium HUB was built with an investment of HUF 1.28 billion, with the support of the State Secretariat for National Policy of the Prime Minister's Office. The building has 15 offices, coworking rooms, three meeting rooms and two conference rooms with 50-100 seats. In the monument part of the property, on the site of the former Oroszlán restaurant, a cafe suitable for exhibitions has been set up. On the two upper floors of the building, 13 service apartments were created for resident doctors and artists. In the spacious spaces of the basement, a cultural center and podcast studio suitable for organizing professional events, art exhibitions and workshops have been created.
